This should make a lot of Americans very uneasy...

"A video of a 2006 interview with now-Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel for president-elect Barack Obama reveals plans for mandatory induction for all young adults into a civilian "force."

The official website for Obama, Change.gov, announced he would "require" all middle school through college students to participate in community service programs.

"Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year," the site announced.

According to the title, it's a civilian force so how would it go about discharging 'national security' issues? What are the Constitutional implications for such a group? How is this to be paid. … The statement was made in the context of youth service. Is this an organization for just the youth or are adults going to participate? How does one get away from the specter of other such 'youth' organizations from Nazi Germany and the former Soviet Union when talking about it?"

He can call it service for America or whatever he wants but he can't disguise what he's trying to do...Obama's looking to create a re-education apparatus in America -- brainwashing is another term -- to start the re-orientation process of our youth at an early age. Instead of leaving it to parents to help their children develop perspective, opinion, values and beliefs, Obama wants that role to be assumed by his government.

I for one will resist his every attempt to do so regardless of its legality under his "rule". He has no idea what he's messing with when it comes to dismantling America's freedoms. if he's interest in starting a revolution, he's definitely moving in the "left" direction.

It WASNT A MANDATE or LANDSLIDE Victory for Obama so please stop saying it was Obamabots.

Here's an excerpt from the WSJ:
In a sign Mr. Obama's victory may have been more personal than partisan or philosophical, Democrats picked up just 10 state senate seats (out of 1,971) and 94 state house seats (out of 5,411). By comparison, when Ronald Reagan beat Jimmy Carter in 1980, Republicans picked up 112 state senate seats (out of 1,981) and 190 state house seats (out of 5,501).
Obama won as a symbol candidate (as Republicans having been saying for weeks and accused of "sour grapes" or worse because of it). Obama did not win because most of the electorate appreciated his philosophies or agreed with his policies.

Don't you think its about time the Obama supporters just admitted this and stopped trying to defend Obama as some Great Politician? Most of his voters only cared about one of two things: 1) he wasn't Bush 0r 2) he wasn't white.

Everyone who has issues with Muslims should go meet some. There are plenty of Muslims living as citizens in our country. Remember, all religions have their radicals. Islam is no different. Misguided Jews and Christians have done horrific things in the name of their God too.

Ozcar

Don't you see people? These posts are a perfect representation of the division that are sillifying our beautiful country. There are some sober, rational voices but, for the most part, either the left is screaming "racist" or the right is screaming "marxist." Both are 100% wrong.

"And yet publicly it is difficult to find much soul-searching or introspection [from either right or left], or even the slightest admission of responsibility for the gridlock. What we hear instead, not only in campaigns but on editorial pages, on bookstands, or in the ever-expanding blog universe, are deflections of criticism and assignments of blame. Depending on your tastes, our condition is the natural result of radical conservatism or perverse liberalism, Tom DeLay or Nancy Pelosi, big oil or greedy trial lawyers, religious zealots or gay activists, Fox News or the New York Times. How well these stories are told, the subtlety of the arguments and the quality of the evidence will vary by author but in distilled form the explanations of both the right and the left have become mirror images of each other. They are stories of conspiracy, of America being hijacked by an evil cabal. Like all good conspiracy theories, both tales contain just enough truth to satisfy those predisposed to believe in them, without admitting any contradictions that might shake up those assumptions. Their purpose is not to persuade the other side but the keep their bases agitated and assured of the rightness of their respective causes - and lure just enough new adherents to beat the other side into submission."

Wow. People who voted twice for Bush should forego the right to vote for two elections and should also restrain the desire to express political opinions. You screwed the country royal and now you want everyone to suspect Obama. Racism. Ignorance. Blindness. Idiocy. Conspiratorial bunk. Thugs who'd embrace a police state. That is what I see.

memnoch the devil

Now that we have a muslim president..how long will it take for him to get us all killed? I can't believe we have that many idiots in the USA who voted for him. He's another Jimmy Carter... hold on to your wallets !!

Tina

Thank you for your blog. I'll be sure to be a repeat visitor.

I am hoping for complete Obama policy failure so, no, I don't agree with this post. Our ability to make sure Obama doesn't produce one, single policy is the only thing that I will consider a success for this country.

Then again, I am a small gov't advocate so Obama's complete failure = smaller gov't. We all win.

If LA gets blown to smitherings tomarrow, we're going to see real change. take a look at www.islamicstateofamerica.com

ProUSA,

I've gone nowhere.

He has not changed my opinion.

You Obama supporters will learn the hard way.

Headlines of things to come under Nobama?

"McCain T-shirt gets man cuffed, stuffed
'Don't tell him no more, lock him up,' police say

"Islamists Say Obama Is 'An Apology From the American People'"

"U.S. Treasury To Teach 'Islamic Finance 101'"

"Black Panther Intimidation At The Polls"

"ACORN GUILTY of FRAUD "

Unfortunately all real...

Change we can believe in? More like freedoms we can be relieved of...

Caroncha

Man, it must suck to be you right now. =)

ProUSA

Where have all the Nobama-Zombies gone??

"The actions by Freddie Mac are cited by some economists as the beginning of the country's economic meltdown."

BUSH TRIED...NOBAMA LIED

"Freddie Mac substantially misrepresented its income to 'present investors with the image of a company that would continue to generate predictable and growing earnings'" while Rahm Emanuel, a leading figure in the Democrat Party who's supported Obama throughout his presidential campaign, was on the Board of Directors."

CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN? YEAH, RIGHT.

"Maybe next media members will report how Obama was the second-leading political recipient of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac contributions since 1989 even though he's only been in Congress since 2005."

SPREADING THE WEALTH IS JUST FAIR FOR EVERYONE...

Wow. Things are really going to be different when Nobama's in charge.

Let's all just have another drink of the cult-flavored koolaid and everything will be fine.

ProUSA

From the Newswire, Nov. 7, 2008

"Now that Barack Obama has won his bid for the White House, Americans should get ready to learn some inconvenient truths about him and the folks surrounding the president-elect that media have safely hidden from the public in order to promote his messiah-like image.

President-elect Barack Obama's newly appointed chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, served on the board of directors of the federal mortgage firm Freddie Mac at a time when scandal was brewing at the troubled agency and the board failed to spot "red flags," according to government reports reviewed by ABCNews.com.

According to a complaint later filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Freddie Mac, known formally as the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, misreported profits by billions of dollars in order to deceive investors between the years 2000 and 2002."

The story continues...

"Hmmm. So, "The actions by Freddie Mac are cited by some economists as the beginning of the country's economic meltdown." And "Freddie Mac substantially misrepresented its income to 'present investors with the image of a company that would continue to generate predictable and growing earnings'" while Rahm Emanuel, a leading figure in the Democrat Party who's supported Obama throughout his presidential campaign, was on the Board of Directors.

And this is suddenly newsworthy NOW?

Hmmm. Maybe next media members will report how Obama was the second-leading political recipient of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac contributions since 1989 even though he's only been in Congress since 2005."

This is just the beginning, people. And Nobama supporters tell us that we need to learn about the man and we'll begin to respect him. HA!

The 65 million that voted for this guy will now begin to learn what the 57 million of us already knew about him before November 4th.

Just words...

Something that probably wouldn't happen under President McCain:

(From the newswire, November 7, 2008)
"BAGHDAD – Two Iraqi insurgent groups called on President-elect Barack Obama to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq and abandon the war on terror, an Internet monitoring service reported Friday."

So now, the USA takes requests from terrorists. Why not? Nobama has a way with them...he likes them, they like him.

You Nobama supporters were right about his advantage over Mccain there. Good job.

Ozcar

ProUSA, were you equally pissed about special interests giving to campaigns when it favored the republicans? Were you upset when George W. Bush outspent Kerry? Did he "buy" that election?

I'd be interested to see the list of "special interests" and who gave to Obama vs. who gave to McCain.

ProUSA

News worth reporting:

"Unions, political action committees and other special interests shelled out nearly $98 million in independent expenditures to influence the presidential election, according to a CQ MoneyLine analysis of campaign finance reports through Nov. 4.

The groups overwhelmingly favored Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, spending $48 million in his behalf since June."

Surprised? Not really.

For Sale:

One US President, only slightly used and missing some parts, but overall in good condition. Bought and paid for, comes with title.

Ozcar 4 McCain 2012!

That'll show 'im DGM! Let's all do that!!!

DGM

So apparent B Hussein Obama is going to push for a tax rebate to be sent out to us. Ive decided Im going to rip up the check and send it back to him.

I dont want his help and I dont want to be bought as a supporter just like he bought the presidency.

Ozcar

Nice work, Obama voter! Donfin and ProUSA had no response to your intelligent post so maybe they went to a different anti Obama site. Or maybe they realize finally that Obama will be their president and they will give him a chance - just as all of us did for Bush. Well done!

Obama voter

Wow, a lot of comments since I was here yesterday.

Dan,
Thanks for the reply. You're right that the original CTRP was from 1992, but I'm referring to the 2006 bill. It's just that Cooperative Proliferation Detection, Interdiction Assistance, and Conventional Threat Reduction Act of 2006 is a lot more complicated than what I originally wrote. Sorry for the confusion. As for my source on that bill, it's Sen. Lugar:
http://lugar.senate.gov/press/record.cfm?id=248080&&
As for the Honest Leadership and Open Government, again you're partially right. He was not an official co-sponsor but from the A.P. story: "Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill. _ who had pushed for the bundling provisions and was one of four lawmakers who participated in a Democratic conference call to reporters _ said the measure marks "the most sweeping ethics reform since Watergate."" Even though he and John McCain both introduced amendments to it, Sen. McCain was one of only 14 senators to vote against it.

You said he "has not voted on most of the Bills put before the senate." This is not factual, even going by the numbers on the link you provided me. From the website you provided it says he has voted 54% of the time. I would say that would be damning evidence except that Sen. McCain has only voted 36% of the time. Just this year Sen. Obama sponsored 8 bills and voted on 77. I do encourage you to read Obama's book, but I can appreciate you not wanting to give him money. Get it for free from the library. I did the same thing with Ann Coulter for the exact same reason. If you REALLY want to know about Obama and what he wants for the country, in his own words, then grab it.
As far as the Dow and unemployment numbers go, I think you're reaching pretty far. According to the BLS, we lost 760,000 jobs so far this year and the DOW drop has widely been attributed to the general condition of the economy. Both of these are certain to continue to get worse for at least the next six months, well into Obama's first term.
"Nonfarm payroll employment continued to trend down in September; 159,000 jobs were lost. Since peaking in December, nonfarm payroll employment has declined by 760,000, for an average monthly job loss of 84,000." September report- http://www.bls.gov/ces/ceshilightsarch.htm
As far as the gaffe from Biden on the Constitutional powers, yeah that one was embarrassing. But nowhere near the catastrophe of a VP Palin. I'm sure everyone's seen this but even Fox couldn't hide it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4CKCYD5Vuw

To ProUSA,
Thanks for your reply as well. First, I don't believe in "white guilt" and I'd apprciate it if you didn't call me a liar. I won't say that nobody voted for Obama because of race but then again, some probably voted for McCain for the same reason. Second, Obama released his birth records almost 6 months ago. Here: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2008/jun/27/obamas-birth-certificate-part-ii/
Third, the Ayers and Khalidi stuff has been so widely debunked, it's not worth wasting time with.

I agree with Izz and Ozcar with the original reason I posted here. I appreciated what I thought was a heartfelt hope that someone who doesn't agree with Obama still hoped that he will live up to his word.

Hope!, I'm sure I agree with you politically but I strongly disagree with insulting people and name calling. It doesn't help anyone and it's the exact opposite of what Sen. Obama is trying to do, to include as many people as we can. Sorry for this humongous post.

Dan

"Dan, you're a delusional idiot who seems to forget that our country is in shambles. The economy sucks."

Hope! Obviously you don't READ very well. I VOTED Obama. Our economy is in shambles because of decades of mismanagement and poor refulation of fiancial institutions. Unless you have a degree in economics... don't even try to lecture me.
