This is a 41 second video of Obama's "special shout-out" to his pastor, at the Black Clergy conference at Hampton University on June 5 2007.
By that date there is no doubt whatsoever that Obama knew Wright had repeatedly made racist statements and attacked the US government for its atrocities.
Obama had already dis-invited Wright from appearing at his Campaign kick off in February 2007, and explained why he had done so to the NY Times in March 2007.
For Obama, a sitting US Senator to use the authority of his position to gain a pulpit which he then uses to give a "special shout-out" to the man who blames the US Government for inventing the AIDS virus specifically to kill African-Americans is an outrage .
After having failed to stand up for the US Government and correct the misinformation that he heard spewed by his pastor for 22 years; to then single out that pastor for special recognition in a public forum and have him acknowledged as a great leader is warped. And for Obama to then turn round a year or so later and ask for our votes to make him the leader of that US Government takes the meaning of Audacity of Hope to a whole new level.
Obama claims he is consistent; I agree in one area. Obama consistently demonstrates bad judgment. But there is a cure. We can vote against Obama.
Yes we can ...and yes we will.
PS I've no idea about the identity of the woman whose voice is heard briefly mid-tape.
PSS. Watch Obama in the first few seconds as he mentions the ways that Wright helps him. He says, " he counsel's... (checks his speakers notes in panic )...me." Surely he couldn't have forgotten how to refer to himself? Lucky for him he had those speakers notes or else the junior Senator from Chicago might have given us another priceless "57 State" moment.
